Cheri Vivette Miller aka Reverend Cheri or Lady Cheri was born on December 17, 1979, in Washington, DC. Having been raised in a family with a strong Christian conviction, Rev. Miller actively participated as a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church where the Rev. Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr. was the Senior Pastor.
In 1997, Rev. Miller was crowned Miss District of Columbia Teen USA and went on to represent the District of Columbia in the nationally televised Miss Teen USA Pageant. During her reign as Miss DC Teen USA, Cheri founded L.O.V.E (Lifting Others through Valuable Efforts), which was developed to enhance self-esteem, etiquette and teach young ladies’ other necessary skills that would allow them to succeed. Rev. Miller attended Clark Atlanta University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with a background in Electrical and Civil Engineering. She is received a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Mathematics at Augusta University. She is currently pursuing Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and her Masters of Arts in Religious Education.
During her college experience, she received numerous awards and titles such as Miss Kappa Alpha Psi, Miss Black and Gold and Miss Clark Atlanta University. She has held many positions in the field of education, including Program Specialist for the Office of Student Activities and New Student Orientation at Clark Atlanta. She currently has a fulfilling career as a high school math and Bible teacher at Augusta Christian Schools.
In December 2014, Rev. Miller accepted her call to preach the gospel and was licensed by the Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church of Augusta, GA. There she served in numerous ministry capacities, including nursery ministry and women’s ministry. She was ordained in June 2021 at Elim Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. At Elim Baptist Church, Rev. Miller has served in many different capacities including, administrator, ministry leader and summer camp director. Prior to that she was the ministry leader for the Expressions of Praise Dance Ministry, Momentum (The Young Adult/ College Ministry) and the Women’s Ministry of the Messiah’s Temple Christian Church. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she firmly believes she is “To be supreme in service to all mankind.” God has truly blessed her life and ministry. She is dedicated to ministering and empowering God’s people.
Rev. Miller is married to Reverend Dr. George C. Miller, III, Senior Pastor, Compassionate Life Church in Columbia County. Rev. Miller serves as Co-Pastor at Compassionate Life Church. They are the proud parents of five sons George C. Miller, IV, Charles Preston Miller, Robert James Miller, Carter Ashton Miller and Jefferson Reid Miller. Believing firmly that her first ministry is to her family, Rev. Miller works everyday to be the Proverbs 31 woman who understands that “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”
